Rt. Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Joins Final Day of the 4th UG Economic Forum

This afternoon, we were honored to welcome Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, along with other distinguished officials, business leaders, and partners to the final day of the 4th UG Economic Forum. Our special guests included representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and National Development, Nile Breweries Limited, Uganda Development Corporation, Uganda Revenue Authority, MTN Momo UG, and the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda.

I would like to give a big thanks to our Deputy Group CEO, Joe Kigozi, for his excellent leadership in organizing this event. His team worked hard to ensure the forum was a success, and they truly delivered.

This week-long event, just like the three before it, focused on important conversations about Uganda’s economic challenges. We discussed key topics, including how to improve fiscal strategies, the role of AI in the economy, and the importance of youth leadership.

Together, we also identified key stakeholders—such as policymakers and heads of major parliamentary committees—who need to be part of these conversations to help “Inform to Transform” Uganda’s economic future.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and the Next Media team for making this event a great success. A special thank you to the millions of viewers who followed the forum throughout the week.

I’m already excited for the 5th edition of the UG Economic Forum, which will take place around the same time next year!
