Next Media CEO Delivers Keynote at Media Owners Association of Zambia General Meeting

I had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the Media Owners Association of Zambia General Meeting. The event, held in Lusaka, was graced by the presence of the President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. President Hakainde Hichilema, who served as the Guest of Honour.

My address centered on the crucial topic of media sustainability—an issue that continues to challenge our industry. From power reliability and the spread of fake news to the rapid technological shifts reshaping the media landscape, the discussion explored how media houses can adapt and thrive in an evolving environment.

I had the opportunity to share some of Next Media’s approaches to navigating these crises and how we’ve leveraged innovation to maintain resilience and remain at the forefront of the industry.

It was especially heartening to see a leader of President Hichilema’s stature taking such an active interest in the sustainability of media, underscoring the significance of these conversations. I am thrilled that Zambia is planning to send a delegation to Uganda to benchmark the successes we’ve achieved at Next Media. This commitment to learning and collaboration marks an exciting step toward regional cooperation in media development.
