This afternoon, I met with leaders from Uganda’s creative sector, including representatives from the Uganda Federation of Movie Industry, National Culture Forum, and the Producers Guild of Uganda. Our conversation reinforced a simple truth: Uganda cannot build a strong creative economy if its own content struggles to succeed at home.
We discussed practical ways to promote local content, strengthen distribution, and leverage telecom partnerships to make Ugandan productions more accessible and affordable. These are not distant ambitions—they are necessary steps toward unlocking the industry’s full potential.
At Next Media, we remain committed to backing innovation that creates real opportunities for creators. Through platforms like AfroMobile and others, we are investing in tools, partnerships, and systems that can help Ugandan content scale.
Our industry does not lack talent. What it needs is stronger infrastructure, wider access, and greater belief from within. When our stories reach more Ugandan homes, the entire value chain grows—from creators to producers to platforms. That is how sustainable industries are built.
