This evening, at the Rotary Club of Kigo 7 Lakes Golf, I had the privilege of hosting Ernest Rubondo for an engaging conversation on Uganda’s oil and gas sector and its implications for businesses and everyday citizens.
The discussion was both timely and insightful. With an estimated 6.5 billion barrels of discovered oil, critical infrastructure taking shape, and a refinery on the horizon, Uganda stands at a pivotal moment. Ernest walked us through the transition from exploration to production, highlighting where real opportunities lie for Ugandans who are paying attention.
What stood out most for me is that this is not just a story of large-scale investment—it is about whether Uganda can capture meaningful value from its natural resources for its people. As leaders shaping the future of this country, these are the conversations that matter.
I am grateful to Ernest for making the time. The room was full, and so was the exchange of ideas—exactly why we gather.
