Born in this very facility 49 years ago, in 1976, this evening was deeply humbling for me.
I joined the Ntungamo District Health Committee and other district leaders—led by LCV Chairperson Sam Mucunguzi—for a site visit to the Maama Kariisa Maternity Ward at Rubaare Health Centre IV as it nears completion. Standing there felt like coming full circle.
Exactly one year ago today, we broke ground on this project. To see how far it has come in such a short time is a powerful reminder of what shared purpose and committed partnerships can achieve.
I am deeply grateful to our partners, the district leadership, and everyone whose dedication has driven this work forward. This maternity ward is more than a building—it is a renewed promise of safer beginnings for mothers and children in Ntungamo.
