This morning, as Chairman, I led the new NAB Executive to hold the first meeting of our term with the regulator, UCC, at their headquarters. Among other subjects, we updated the Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission, Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo and her team on the expansion of NAB’s Executive team, which starting this term, now includes representatives from the Uganda Editor’s Guide, Uganda Media Owners’ Association (UMOA),and the Rural Broadcasters’ Association (RUBA).
We also presented the challenges faced by our members in their operations in the industry, and together, we came up with what we believe are effective and positive resolutions that will facilitate the growth of our industry. I am certain we have a bright future ahead of us.
