This afternoon, I had the honour of engaging with the Board of Quality Chemicals Industries Ltd (@qcil_uganda2) on a game that has shaped my leadership journey—golf.

Golf is more than a sport. It’s a powerful blend of strategy, patience, and discipline. It has long been a space where leaders think clearly, connect meaningfully, and build resilience. It’s no surprise that over 90% of Fortune 500 CEOs play the game—it teaches lessons that boardrooms often can’t.
I was delighted to have the Board join me for a 9-hole round. On the course, deals are made, ideas are exchanged, and trust is built—often without saying much. It’s a boardroom without walls, where both body and mind are sharpened in equal measure.
To my fellow Ugandan business leaders: golf is not time away from leadership—it’s time invested in it. For team-building, deep conversation, mental clarity, or simply a fresh perspective, golf delivers.
I hope today’s game inspires a few more lifelong players. Because beyond the swing and scorecard, golf is a masterclass in leadership.
