What does it take to raise a champion? Behind every extraordinary achievement is often a story of sacrifice, discipline, encouragement and unwavering support.
Husnah Kukundakwe’s journey to winning silver at the Commonwealth Games is a powerful reminder that sporting excellence is rarely achieved alone. It takes talent and determination, but it also takes a support system that believes in a dream, nurtures potential and makes sacrifices along the way.
I was particularly inspired by the opportunity for Husnah and her mother, Hashima Batamuriza, to share their story with Uganda through NBS Sport. Their conversation reminds us that celebrating champions must also mean recognising the families and communities that help shape them.
