Today was one of the most difficult days of my leadership journey. A day that brought together two great milestones and an unimaginable loss.
After months of preparation, we launched @mtntvafromobile, our streaming platform, in partnership with MTN Uganda. We also celebrated the second edition of #ThroughTheLensUG, the photojournalism exhibition by our own Francis Isano. Moments of immense pride for Next Media.
But our celebrations were interrupted by heartbreaking news: two of our Transformers had lost their lives, while a third remained in hospital.
What followed reminded me of the true meaning of teamwork and family. Our people divided responsibilities, ensuring the launch proceeded, the bereaved families received support and our colleague in hospital was not left alone.
I am deeply grateful to the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth, Speaker of Parliament, for pausing the exhibition programme to stand with us in grief. We shall forever appreciate that gesture.
To the families of our departed colleagues, our deepest condolences. To our colleague recovering in hospital, we stand with you.
Today, I was reminded that we are more than colleagues; we are family.
